1. Get the New Diaper Ready
Unfold the clean diaper and lift the inner gathers to prevent leaks. Slide the fresh diaper beneath the soiled one, making sure the top edge reaches just above your baby’s navel.
2. Unfasten the Soiled Diaper
Gently open the soiled diaper. Be prepared for any surprises, as babies may go to the bathroom during the change.
3. Wipe and Clean Thoroughly
Carefully clean your baby’s bottom, paying special attention to all the creases where waste can accumulate. Be gentle when lifting your baby’s legs to ensure their comfort.
4. Remove the Soiled Diaper
Gently lift your baby’s bottom to slide out the soiled diaper and dispose of it properly.
5. Position and Secure the New Diaper
With the inner gathers raised, pull the fresh diaper up to cover your baby’s navel. For boys, make sure the penis is pointing downward to minimize the risk of leaks.
6. Fasten the Tape
Hold the sides of the diaper firmly and pull the adhesive tabs across to secure it. Ensure both sides are evenly fastened for a snug fit.
7. Adjust the Leg Gathers
Smooth the gathers around your baby’s thighs with your fingers. Proper positioning helps prevent leaks and ensures comfort. Check that no edges are folded inward.
